Byron is a good friend of mine from school and Lara is his lovely girlfriend who has also become one of my good friends. This was our second attempt at this shoot after a case of really bad lighting with the first one. I have such profound respect for these two and their relationship; Byron works shift weeks at the Bushmanskloof Game Lodge and Lara studies in Cape Town so they only see each other every three weeks! They're so amazing to me because you would never say that they are having to deal with something as stressful as that based on how natural they are when they are together after their three week break. They're fantastic humans and I'm so so happy with this shoot. Some of my favourite images have came out of this one :)
Being young and fantastically independent, I get to be in the rather lovely position of being able to call anywhere (where there's WiFi ;P) home and with this cool perk I am therefore also very available for housesitting when people go away (this is not a business ad at all but being a student and everything, if you do find yourself needing someone to look after your house....). With these images, precisely that occurred and as an added bonus, the house I was looking after also had two German Shepherds, one of which had just had 9 puppies! As a lover of babies and animals in equal parts, puppies are like the ecstatic and almost holy union of everything that I care about in the world, so I had way too much fun running after these balls of fun. They are almost ready to go to their forever homes and that thought does make me pretty sad. If only there were ways to justify keeping 9 energy emanating German Shepherds... :P But without further ado, I give you, The Cutest Puppies Probably Ever: Since our mini shoot in the park with my sister, I've really gotten the ball rolling and roped in some friends to help me practice and get this little business up to standard over the next couple of weeks. First up was Astrid, one of my best friends throughout all of school and one of my favourite people in general. She brought her sweet little puppy, Maya, along and she was happy to run around making friends in the field while we went about our serious posing business. She made a couple of cameos throughout the shoot as well. All in all, I'm really happy with how this shoot turned out :D |
